Introduction: Milk Carton Pouf

Although this pouf might appear weak, it is surprisingly strong. It's plenty strong enough for kids or even big adults! My son has been using his for more than ten years.

Step 1: What You Need...


First, collect milk cartoons. Then rinse them out and dry them well. Next, cut them open as in the picture. Next make them into triangle tubes as seen here. Tape them together. Next arrange in a hexagon pattern with six triangle tubes and tape together.

Step 2: Make a Shape

Fold the top and bottom closed with packing tape.

Using the hexagon tube and triangle tub, create your ideal size.

Step 3: Bottom

To make the surface smooth, cut cardboard to the same size as the pouf and tape it to one side for the bottom.

Cover the surface with duck tape to make it moisture-proof.

Step 4: Top

Add polyurethane foam. I couldn't get my ideal thickness so I layered four 1 inch pieces of foam. I sewed the foam pieces together to stop them from moving around. h

After putting the foam, cover the top with batting, then cover the sides. (no need to cover the bottom).

Step 5: Cover Your Pouf

Cut any fabric 5 inches bigger than the top hexagon shape. Cover the top part (foam) and sew the corners.

Attaching lining to the fabric for the sides. Fold one long side using an iron and sew it to the pouf.

Use thicker material for the bottom. Cut exactly the same size as the bottom, fold a half to one inch all around the edges and sew it to the bottom.

If you don't want to sew, strong double sided tape might work.

Step 6: TA-DA!!

The pouf I made this time was about 23 inches across and 13 inches high.

I would use few layers of batting on top for a kid''s stool instead of thick foam.
