Introduction: Minecraft 1.19 Bedrock Bonemeal Sugar Cane Farm

About: Just a random kid in NC who likes animating and Minecraft.

Hi, everyone! I’ve been trying to build a good sugar cane farm for my world when I realized it would be more worth my time to make a farm that uses bonemeal. This farm I designed uses a lot of parts from the farm by JC Plays, who I totally recommend for any Bedrock players out there. And the best part? This farm does not let any sugar cane go to waste! So without further ado, let’s get started with the materials list!

Supplies

50 solid blocks
2 chests
1 hopper
1 rail
1 minecart with hopper
1 dirt block
1 water bucket
1 dispenser
1 piston
1 observer
4 glass blocks
1 trapdoor
7 redstone dust
1 redstone repeater
1 redstone torch
1 lever
1 sugar cane

Step 1: Collection System

1. Place down a double chest.
2. Come to the back and place a hopper going into the left side of the chest. The thin part of the hopper should be facing into the chest.
3. Place a rail on top of the hopper, and a minecart with hopper on top of the rail.

Step 2: Sugar Cane Farming System

1. Build a 2 block high wall around the minecart. Place a glass block on the chest so you can still open it.
2. Build another layer of blocks on top, not placing a block on the right, and place a dirt block in the middle.
3. On the side with the missing block, build outward one block, place a trapdoor, and open it. You can then break the temporary block.
4. Place water in this hole.
5. The next layer should look like this. The dispenser should be directly over the water, and the glass block should be at the front of the farm.
6. The next layer should look like this. Make sure the piston is facing the right direction, and be sure to place a block with redstone dust on top behind the piston.
7. The final layer should look like this. Make sure the observer is facing the right direction.
8. Build a roof above the sugar cane farming system.

Step 3: Redstone

1. Come to the left side of the farm and place blocks in this formation.
2. Place the redstone components like this. Make sure the repeater is set to TWO TICKS!
3. At the back of the farm, break the block behind the dispenser, and add two blocks. This should create a ‘staircase’ of blocks to the dispenser.
4. Finally, add redstone connecting to the dispenser. The farm is done!

Step 4: Using the Farm

1. Place bonemeal in the dispenser.
2. Flick this lever, and the farm should automatically harvesting the sugar cane! To turn it off, flick the lever down again.

Step 5: Outro

Thank you for building this farm! By the way, in order to get the bonemeal, you can build a skeleton/mob farm, or just go kill some skeletons. If there are any mistakes you’d like to point out, feel free to let me know in the comments!
