Introduction: Minecraft How to Install a Map
Have You ever wanted to download that cool Replica of the Yoglabs or that cool castle Map In minecraft. If your answer is no then keep reading, if not you should still keep reading so you don't have a problem in the future. Minecraft Premade maps from people like Podcrash and Hypixel are some of the best maps around, and we all want to try out that great new PvP, but how do you get it out of the folder and into your minecraft world. By the End of this Instructables you should have all the knowledge required to get a map of your own. Whenever i download something like this from the internet i make sure to run a scanning program so that i didn't pick up any Viruses or Trojans while i was downloading it. You will need
A Minecraft Map(Just type into the search bar Minecraft Maps and you should find a couple site with what you want)
Access to your Minecraft Data Folder( Don't worry if you don't know how to access it, i'l teach you how to)
(may Be Required in some cases) A program that can unzip compressed Folders.)
Step 1: Open Your Folder
you already know how to open your data folder you can skip this step, but if you don't continue reading. Open up your Minecraft Launcher and click the button in the bottom left corner that says "Edit Profile". A window will appear with a bunch of stuff in it, Don't worry you only need one thing. In the lower right corner there is a button that says "Open Game Dir", Click it.
Step 2: The Data Folder
In the Data Folder scroll down until you find the Folder that is Named "Saves", Double Click on it. Open up your downloads folder(or wherever you have your Map) and Hold down the mouse and drag the Map Folder into the Saves Folder. If you need to Unzip this folder then now is the time to do it. Once the File is unzipped place the Folder with the map in it into the saves folder.
Step 3: Pretty Much Done
Almost Done. All you have to do now is Exit the file and open up your Minecraft. If you did everything correctly you will have a New Map inside your Minecraft Screen. That's Pretty much it. there are other ways to access your Data Folder but i use this method because it works in both Mac and Windows. I know you can access your Data folder by Typing into Run %appdata% and that will take you to a screen where you will see your data file Named ".Minecraft". If your map has not appeared in your minecraft game try seeing if you need to unzip the file or maybe you put in the wrong Folder. If you have a Though on how to improve this Instructables Message me or drop a comment(I LOVE it when you guys comment so don't be shy if you think i don't read your comment cause i do.). Thats all the time for today, See you all next time Minecraft fans.
