Introduction: Mini Cat Gym

I am very excited about this contest, I wanted to dare to choose a large object and make it small, so since I love cats I wanted to recreate a miniature gym for them, I tried to make it as small as I could

I hope you like the result.

Supplies

Materials

Cardboard

Rope

Fabrics (brown, white)

Jute

Silicone

Moldable foam

Skewer sticks

Pencil

Ruler

Scalpel

Step 1:

Choose a piece of cardboard, you can reuse a shoe box or one you have at home

With the help of a ruler and pencil, draw the following measurements for the bases that we will use for our gym

The first cardboard base will be 3 cm x 3 cm.

The second base will be 3cm x 2 cm

and the third base will be 2cm x 2 cm

Step 2:

We choose the type of fabric with which we want to upholster our cardboard bases, I chose a fabric called felt and I chose it in a light gray color

We cut the fabric a little larger than the base of the cardboard, this in order to be able to fold the excess with cold silicone, then with scissors we cut the excess from the corner tips.

This is how we will do it with the three cardboard bases

Step 3:

Now we will cut two skewer or wooden sticks of the following measurements

The first will be 6 and a half cm

and the second will be 4 cm

Step 4:

Now with the rope we tangle the spike sticks all around, this in order to simulate the scratching posts that come in cat gyms, which sharpen the nails and de-stress our cats

Step 5:

We opened two holes in the first two cardboard bases where the lined skewer sticks would enter.

Step 6:

I chose jute because I think it gives a handmade touch to our cat gym, I love the color and texture of jute

The measurements to make our hoop will be 6 cm x 1 cm

Step 7:

We fold our jute strip to glue it end to end and form a small circle.

Then with a piece of jute we will cover the circle from behind.

Step 8:

We glue the last cardboard base with silicone and our gym for miniature cats will be finished.

Step 9:

With 0.5 cm of fabric we will make a quilt to decorate the circle that we made with jute

Step 10:

To finish our gym we cannot stay without making an adorable cat in moldable foam, I chose the moldable foam since it is easy to mold and in a few hours it will be hard

I'm really not very good at sculpture so I tried to make a little cat to decorate the gym.

Step 11:

With brown acrylic I added some small spots characteristic of cats.

Step 12:

Finally, here we have a miniature cat gym made with a lot of love, if you want you can add more cats or try to make them in other positions.
