Miniature Chess Pieces

Introduction: Miniature Chess Pieces

About: Professional work in various electrical and mechanical fields, obscure sense of humour and typically willing to help... Currently under contract designing environmental monitoring equipment.

I am in the process of creating a mini chess set out of wood and aluminum.

The pieces are being made on a mini lathe that I built and posted on this site. The cutting tools used are hobby knives and jeweler's files.

The wood pieces are made on the pocket lathe and the aluminum ones are on the mini metal lathe.

I will add more pictures of the set as I complete the pieces.

How does you center your piece on the "jaws"? how to know if it is out of center?... a "made unit" does the centering by design... but, with 4 screws at time?
