Introduction: Mock Starbucks Cranberry Bliss Bar

With Christmas parties and get togethers it's always a must to have tastey desert for guest and loved ones to enjoy, for a special treat this year why not make them a delicious starbucks classic the cranberry bliss bar! Here is a step by step tutorial on how to make a mock bliss bar and help to wow your friends and family so lets get started :)

Step 1: Gathering Your Ingredients

First it's time to gather your ingredients I will list all the ingredients you will need I will split it up into three sections each for the different parts of the bliss bar you will be making:

Part 1: The Cake
-butter, softened
-light brown sugar
-3 eggs
-vanilla extract
-powdered ginger
-all purpose flour
-dried cranberries (I also mixed it up and made a blueberry bliss bar it was amazing!)
-white chocolate (I used ghiradelli white chocolate chips)

Part 2: The Frosting
-cream cheese, softened
-powdered sugar
-lemon juice
-vanilla extract
-dried cranberries

Part3: Icing Drizzle
-Powedered Sugar
-vegetable shortening

*You will need an egg beater

Step 2: Making the Cake Batter

First thing first set your oven to 350 F and while that is preheating let's begin on your cake. Take a mixing bowl and start by beating 1 cup (2 sticks) of softened butter with 1 1/4 cup brown packed sugar until it's nice and smooth. Next you are going to add three eggs, 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon of powedered ginger, and a 1/4 teaspoon of salt into your cake batter, mix that until smooth. No gradually mix in 1 1/2 cups of flour until smooth and then mix 3/4 cups of dried cranberries and 6 ounces of white chocolate chips by hand into your batter.

Once finished mixing poor into a well greased 9x13 (aprox. size) baking pan then use a spatula to smooth it out evenly in the pan. Then stick your pan into the oven for about 30-40 minutes (I did 30 but I also was terrified of burning it).

Step 3: The Icing

While your cake is cooking let's get started on making your icing! We will start by mixing 4 ounces of softened cream cheese (I microwaved my cream cheese a little to help it out but it might be easier just to get whipped cream cheese), 3 cups powederd sugar, 4 teaspoons of lemon juice, and a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Beat these ingredients on high until it is nice and smooth this may take a while but be patient it is well worht it!

Once your icing is all done and your cake is done cooking and has cooled spread the icing with a spatula over the cake, it doesnt need to be perfectly smoothed out but make sure you cover your edges and corners. Then take and sprinkle cranberries over the  top of the icing (use how ever much you want the recipe called for 1/4 cup but I believe I used more then that).

Step 4: The Drizzle

This is the last step and the one thing that will tie this tastey togethr. This is a fairly simple and quick step so here it goes, take a small mixing bowl and add in 1/2 cup of powdered sugar,  1 tablespoon milk, and 2 teaspoons shortening then whisk together until smooth. Then take a fork or something (if you have and laying around you can also use an icing bag) and drizzle over the top and bam you are done!
