Introduction: Modular Plant Pot

A modular plant pot design that gives an aesthetic and sleek design to whatever space your decorating! If your looking for a nice touch of greenery, and also one that fits that sleek design your looking for, this is the project for you.

This is a fun and easy project for anyone, and you'll get a nice modular plant pot when your done

*You need a 3d printer for this

Supplies

  • Wood (Plastic sheets/modeling foam can also work, I have not tested this)
  • PLA plastic (for 3D printing)
  • Waterproof Spray Paint
  • Optional LED Grow Light (something like this)

Step 1: Cutting Templates

You need material that can support the weight of soil, so you need something rigid and strong. For me, I chose to use a laser cutter to cut the wood, however, you can probably use modeling foam or plastic sheets if you layer them multiple times. The wood I used was 3mm thick.

I have attached both DXF files and illustrator files for the outline of the sheets, depending on how you would like to pursue the project

You need a 2 bases and 1 top to start, however past that its up to you to freely organize the way you want it to look. The inside cover is only for the top, you need 2 per top.

Step 2: Printing Clips and Painting

I have attached separate files for the top and bottom of the clips. You only need 4 clips, (2 per side), however it's safer to use 8 clips (4 per side).

While there printing, I would spray paint the wood with waterproof spray paint.

Step 3: Gluing

Gluing the project together is easy and simple. I attached pics of how to assemble to project. You just snap the piece together and glue them. Just make sure to glue the clips base into the slots in the top piece first.

Step 4: You Done!

Now you have a modular plant pot that you can add to whatever space your using. Try to come up with your own ideas and I would love for people to innovate on this desgn!
