Introduction: Moms Homeade Christmas Chili
A delicious homade chili that can be made into a great gift basket for your neighbors. Just display the ingredients (exept the meat) in a basket.
Step 1: Ingredients
2 pounds low fat ground beef
1 16oz can crushed tomatoes
1 16oz can diced tomatoes
1 16oz can light red kidney beans
1 8oz can white pinto beans
1 jar hot banana pepper rings (drain the liquid)
1 package McCormic's original chili mix
To turn this into a gift basket just take all your ingreidients and arrange them in a basket. (exept the meat) Then copy down the cocking instructions and give it as a holiday gift.
Step 2: Cooking Step 1
Combine your crushed and diced tomatoes, red kidney beans, white pinto beans, banana peper rings (drain the liquid), and your chili mix in a large pot. Cook on medium until you see it start to boil. Then make sure you take it of the stove until next step is complete.
Step 3: Cooking Step 2
Cook your meat seperatly on a pan until meat is completly done.
Then add the meat to your pot of other ingredients.
Step 4: Serving
When ready to eat heat in pot until warm. Add cheese if desired.
Then eat. Hope you enjoy and don't burn yourself on the stove. Don't make me say I told you so.

An odd but good ingredient I used to use in homemade chili when I was a cook is tomato soup. One large can of it. I didn't agree with it at first but I was paid to do what I was told and poeple loved our chili. And no you cant tell there is tomato soup in it.

This looks much more practical than the typical jar of cookie ingredients. Very nice! I want some chili now...I'm cold...
