Introduction: Monster Waffle Cake
Yep, that's right! This cake is constructed of Chocolate Chip waffles that have been dipped in milk chocolate and drenched in Philadelphia's New "Milk Chocolate Cream Cheese". I don't normally like to take short cuts. I would have made the waffles myself from scratch, but in this case, it just wasn't necessary. I used Eggo frozen Chocolate Chip Waffles as the base of the cake and they turned out delicious. I toasted the waffles first, which added a nice texture to the cake. This cake is super easy to make and can be used for any occasion. You can use any kind of waffles you like and homemade would work just as well with endless filling possibilities.
In case you haven't heard of or seen chocolate cream cheese yet, keep an eye out. These bad boys are available in both milk & dark chocolate. Cream cheese is the base for a lot of cake frostings, so this is an amazing new product.
I found these adorable friendly monsters at my local baking supply shop, but you can use any decorations you want.

Step 4: Dip Waffles in Chocolate and Freeze
Dip only one side of each waffle. Place each waffle in the bowl with the melted chocolate and completely cover one side with chocolate. Place waffle on wax paper. Repeat with remaining waffles.
Place waffles in freezer for 30-45 minutes or until chocolate is hardened.

Step 5: Frost the Cake
Remove waffles from the freezer. Place a waffle on the cake stand and spread a layer of chocolate cream cheese on top. Repeat with remaining waffles. Next, frost the cake with the remaining cream cheese.
Step 6: Decorate Cake
Place monsters onto cake and randomly add circle sprinkles. I stood one of my monsters up to make it pop out more.
