Intro: Monstrous Halloween Novelty Wreath

Inspired by a Halloween wreath project found on the Party City website, this ginormous wreath has all of your favorite spooky icons from wacky eyeballs and slithering snakes, to creepy lizards and squeaky rats! Here, I am taking that inspiration to show you how you can make your own Halloween novelty wreath!

STEP 1: What You Will Need

To make your Halloween novelty wreath, you will need...

a foam wreath
green crepe streamer
purple feather boa
Halloween novelties (eyeballs / snakes / lizards / mini skulls / rats)
false eyelashes
purple or orange ribbon
fuzzy mustaches (to make the eyebrows for the eyeballs)
orange fabric (to make the bow for the top)
scissors
hot glue gun

STEP 2: Wrap Your Foam Wreath

To start, take your foam wreath and wrap it around with green streamer. I like to make it easy by taping or gluing one end of the streamer, and putting it on one spot of the wreath so that way, you will be able to keep the streamer in place as you wrap it around the wreath.

STEP 3: Add a Purple Boa

Now, add a purple feather boa around the edge of your wreath with hot glue to make monster fur! Once you're done, set that aside to dry.

STEP 4: Make a Bow

Now, you can use the orange fabric to make a bow that will go on top of your wreath!

First take the orange fabric and lay it out on your work surface. Fold the fabric in half twice. Then, fold the sides of the fabric and hot glue in place. Pinch the middle to make a bow shape and hot glue that in place. Now, to add a special touch, you can use some purple ribbon to wrap around the middle.

STEP 5: Time to Decorate!

Now, you're ready to decorate your wreath! What I did for mine, is that I glued on some rubber lizards, snakes and rats, as well as mini skull heads, skeleton hands, witch fingers, and most importantly, those fun, wacky eyeballs! For the eyeballs, I used fake lashes to stick on top of the eyes and cut some fake mustaches in half to make eyebrows!

STEP 6: Hang It Up!

Now, you're all set! You just need to hang your wreath somewhere in your house where you want to add some monstrous variety for Halloween!
