Introduction: Mora Meat (Inspired by Genshin Impact)

About: Engineering PhD Student

This is a simple recipe inspired by the "Mora Meat" dish from Genshin Impact. The instructions here cover how to make the filling - please see my "Vegan Coconut Bao Buns" Instructable for the bun recipe: https://www.instructables.com/Quick-Easy-Vegan-Coconut-Bao-Buns/ If you make both simultaneously, it should take about 30 mins total cooking time.

You'll probably have more filling than you need for the 6 buns but it's also tasty with rice or noodles.

Prep time: 5 mins ~ Cooking time: 15 mins ~ Total time: 20 mins

Supplies

Tools:

  • Chopping board
  • Knife
  • Frying pan
  • Spatula

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 500g pork mince
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 pak choi
  • 1 spring onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic

Step 1: Fry the Pork

Set a frying pan over medium-high heat with 2 tbsp sesame oil and add the 500g pork mince. Break up the mince in the pan with a spatula so it can cook evenly.

Step 2: Chop and Fry the Onion

Peel and chop the onion into small pieces, then tip it into the frying pan. Stir occasionally whilst prepping the other ingredients.

Step 3: (Optional) Prep Bao Buns

If you are making the bao buns with this recipe, this is a good time to prepare them, following the other Instructable: https://www.instructables.com/Quick-Easy-Vegan-Coconut-Bao-Buns/

If it's your first time making them and you're worried it might take longer, turn the frying pan heat down to medium so the filling cooks more slowly.

Step 4: Prep the Other Veg

Wash the pak choi and cut off the base. Chop the leaves into bite-size pieces and set them aside. Slice the spring onion into thin rings and finely dice the garlic.

Step 5: Fry the Pak Choi and Sauce

When the minced pork and onion are cooked through and start browning, add the chopped pak choi and 2 tbsp soy sauce (+1 tbsp oyster sauce if desired). Stir until well-distributed.

Step 6: Fry the Garlic and Spring Onion

Once the pak choi has shrunk down and gone soft and darker, add the garlic and spring onion. Fry for about 2 minutes, taking care not to overcook the garlic.

Step 7: Serve With Buns, Rice or Noodles

Serve the filling with your preferred choice of carbs!
