Introduction: Muiltple Wiimote Mods All in One.

Here we go again. But this time the mods are so easy I'm going to put three of them into one, Easy A button, Nunchuck LED, and The Player Indicator mod. I want to first state that none of these mods are done by me. The only mods done by me first are the Power and B button mods. Well why don't we get a move on?

Im going to do the mods starting with: the nunchuck mod, easy a button mod, and the player indicator mod.
They go by page.

Here is what all you mods will look like when they are done.

***Please note that this will void your warranty you have on the wiimote and nunchuck***
****I am not responsible for any damage you do****

Just say something if you need some help.

Step 1: Lets Get This Nunchuck Done.

OK, well here we go.

Items needed:
1 Tri-wing screw driver. (just google tri-wing to find one to buy)
1 LED color of your choice (3mm)
1 12v resistor (if you care about battery life)
1 nunchuck
1 15watt soldering iron
solder
electrical tape

First use your Tir-wing screw driver to unscrew the nunchuck. Force off the top as it has 2 clips that it connects to.

Second, bend your LED to look like picture one (the long leg of the LED is the positive ( + ) on and the short is the negative ( - ) . If you want to save battery power, cut some of a leg off and add a resistor to it. Place a piece of electrical tape on the nunchuck PCB board to avoid shorts.

Then you are going to solder the legs of the LED to the test points on the nunchuck that I have pointed out for you (if you have trouble with the small test points i have listed alternates). Plug the nunchuck into your wiimote to test it out.

If you get your light to well... light up, you've done it right. Put the guts of your nuchuck back into its body and screw it back in. And thats it!!!!

If you have any questions just ask, ill be happy to answer them.

Shall we move on to the Easy A button mod?

Step 2: Easy a Button

OK lets start with the A button. To follow this page I will list the steps in the order or the pictures.

List
1 Tri-wing screw driver. (just google tri-wing to find one to buy)
1 LED color of your choice
1 wiimote
1 15watt soldering iron
solder
Electrical tape

First remove the screws from the wiimote. You'll notice that the wiimote won't open easy around the top and this is a real problem area for everyone, even me. The best think you can do is try to pull the case up as far as you can and put a butter knife uner the top and push down toward the bottom. If you break a peg off don't worry about it, when you done modding the wiimote just put a dab of superglue on the side and it'll hold fine.

Secondly bend your LED to look something like mine. Then your going to want to fit the LED around wiimote's PCB like image #3, once you have it aligned facing the a button solder it down. *remember what legs on the LED are Positive and Negative* (images 2 and 4 are not mine, taken form www.wiimotemods.com)
Test if you did it right by putting the PCB back in the bottom case of the wiimote and put some batterys in and push a button. If your light lights up... well you get the picture.

Next you need to break off a tab that will block your LED from fitting inside your wiimote. Look to images 5 and see for help. Put down electrical tape so the LED doesn't shine through the wiimote's case.

If its working you should see something like image #8.

Trouble shooting.
If you hit a button and your Player indicator lights come on but led doesn't.
check led connection.
Batterys are in but nothing is working.
You have most likely blown a fuse inside the wiimote.
How to fix this
First take some tweezers and look by your One and Two, there will be a little fuse with the letters F1 by it. Put your tweezer on the 2 outside points and press a button. Once your lights come on take wire and bridge the connection like i did.

Please ask for help if you need me to explain something further.

Step 3: Player Indicator Mod

This mod is easy but very hard all at the same time. You'll see what I mean.
I have a shortage of pictures for this mod as i can't do a new one so i have to use the one i have already done as a reference. I will do my best to set you on your way.

list :
1 Wiimote
4 SMD LEDs (0603)
Tri-wing screwdriver
Soldering iron with solder
Magnifier glass (if you have trouble looking at small items)
Desoldering Braid
Tweezers

First take apart your wiimote. Then locate your player indicator leds at the bottom of the wiimote. If you have trouble finding them put some batterys in the wiimote and press home, you'll find them trust me.

Secondly take your desoldering braid and desolder leds 2-4. (if your worried you might not be able to do this mod remove player's 4 led and try to installed your smd led on it)

Once you get them desoldered take out your smd leds. To put the leds on put some solder on your iron (tiny bit!) and place your iron onto one side of the pad and use the tweezers to slide your new led into place. To find out what side is pos and neg of the leds is beyond me, so just do some testing and your get it. It might take some time to do this mod, just make sure not to get mad and don't burn your pads.

Ask for any help if needed.
