My Garage/Workshop

Introduction: My Garage/Workshop

About: I enjoy photography, horticulture and carpentry, and am almost always doing something relating to of those things.

This is where we do our tinkering...most of the info is in the picture descriptions. What's not shown is the mess that is the rest of our garage. It gets thoroughly cleaned a few times a year...maybe next time we'll have some tools to put there!

I started getting tools by buying a toolbox with some hand tools in it, from a pawn shop.

I know I'm dating myself here, but I thought I'd add a bit of levity. Going back a few years, I thought motorizing some of the hand tools I used was the silliest thing I'd ever heard. I'm not talking about drills or saws, these were around since before I was born. I'm talking about screw drivers, wrenches, shovels and so on.

One day while visiting a friend, a professional handyman. He was using a battery operate screw drive that day. After seeing what little time and effort it took to complete his project, I changed my mind. Now, if I see something motorized that I haven't seen before, and I can afford it, I'll pick it up.

I also use products not normally designated for that purpose.

I've got a couple hand drills, too! My dad gave them to me when I was little. ...As long as you've got a hammer, you're fine.

If you go to Sears or the like you can probably buy a starter tool kit for less than $40.00. They may not be the highest quality, but they are a good place to start.
