I am going to show you how to make a very creative valentines gift for that special someone in just a few easy steps.

Step 1: Materials

Piece ofWood: to whatever size you want
Wood Stain: any color or brand
Staining Brush: any brush works best for your stain
Hammer: any size but smaller works better
Nails: size depending on how big you want it to be
Yarn: any color or thickness you want
Cardboard or Newspaper: to use when you are staining so you don't make a mess

Step 2: Writing Love

After you have stained your piece of wood and let it dry, draw out "love" on some paper and line it up how you want it to be on the piece of stained wood. I took two pieces of paper and taped them together so it would fit my piece of stained wood and wrote of "love" in the size and font I wanted. Then I lined it up on my piece of stained wood and taped it down so it wouldn't move.

Step 3: Nailing Process

Now that my "love" logo is drawn up and taped down in the spot I want it on my piece of stained wood, I am going to take my nails and basically trace my lines with nails putting them about a half inch apart. (closer and further in some areas depending on the angle)

Step 4: Wrapping the Yarn

Now that my nails are pounded in and tracing my lines of my "love" logo, I can take my yarn and start by doing just the outside so it is completely outlined and also remember to wrap it low first so you have room when you do the zig zags between all the nails. When I did the zig zag process to fill in I went every other nail and then came back through and then just free-styled to fill more holes. I wrapped it around each nail in a clockwise motion.

Step 5: Finished Valentines Gift

Once you are satisfied with the way it looks you can rip out the paper. You can rip out the paper after you traced with nails but in my mind I thought it was easier to keep it there till the end and use it as a guideline. Plus when you are finished and you take off the paper its like a surprise to how awesome it looks. But anyways I hope you enjoy making this for that special someone and they will love it because it's so different and creative.
