Hobby (wireman) Saw
Chisel
Hammer
Clamp or Vise

STEP 2: Secure the P Supply

Use clamp or vise to hold p supply in position

STEP 3: Break the "weld"

As most power supply are chemically bonded, use saw to remove material about 0.5 to 1 mm on the long sides which does not hv connectors

STEP 4: Open It

Use chisel to crack and break remaining bond on the un-saw sides. Use chisel to pry and twist to neatly open it up

The drawback I can see here, is You've already weakened the place where one side inserts into the other by sawing it.. It may seem odd, but try this instead.. When you clamp the top & bottom shell sides, Rap the side of the supply with a small machinist hamer (Ball-Peen type.).. You should actually hear the glue break, not the plastic... If this doesn't work, clamp the supply along the glue line, and try the rapping with the hammer just beyond the clamp points. This should also give you a chance to re-glue the shell back together. I highly recommend against the Chisel! One 'too-Hard' whack with the hammer, and you could break right through, and possible sever connections, or short them to GND, rendering the supply worthless.
are the gloves to keep the rust off?? not mentioned in tool list.
thanks, would not have thought of using saw 1!!
Yeah, thats about the only way to open it.
Also one can also use a dremel instead of the saw...
