Supplies

*Measurements for 12 protein balls

  1. 1/2 scoop of Protein Powder - for this recipe I recommend vanilla or chocolate, but any flavour will work
  2. 2/3 cup of honey - this is a sweetener and also helps the protein balls stick together
  3. 3/4 cup peanut butter - I recommend creamy for this recipe with just a little bit of added sugar
  4. A pinch salt - just enough so the salty flavour compliments the sweet
  5. 1/3 cup chocolate chips - I like to use mini chocolate chips so there is multiple in every bite
  6. 1 1/2 cup of rolled oats - rolled oats are cheap and help these protein balls taste like cookie dough
  7. 2 tbsp Hulled hemp seeds - the hulled hemp seeds add lots of omega 3 and 6s as well as 9 vitamins and minerals
  8. 1/2 cup Cashew flower - the cashew flower helps to bind the protein balls because the honey and peanut butter is very sticky1 together
  9. 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon - the cinnamon is used for natural flavour and as a sweetener

You will also need a rubber spatula and a mixing bowl as well as a pan wax paper/parchment paper and an ice cream scoop. Make sure to also have a fridge handy

Step 1: Adding Materials to the Bowl and Mixing

step 1: Add the peanut butter rolled oats, honey, salt and chocolate chips to the bowl, then add the protein powder. Stir with a rubber spatula to combine all the materials. I would not recommend a spoon because the batter is very viscous and sticky so the rubber spatula can bend and it is easier to mix. Mix for a few minutes till all the ingredients are mixed well.

Step 2: Preparing the Mold Platform

Line the pan/baking sheet with your parchment paper or wax paper. Make sure to cover most of the pan so that the protein ball dough wont stick to the pan

Step 3: Getting Your Protein Balls to Perfect Circles

Use your ice cream scoop to make your protein balls perfect circles. Scoop the protein ball dough with the ice cream scoop to make them perfect circle continue to scoop as many of them as you want if you have left over dough save it or enjoy a snack for all your hard work. Your protein balls should be around 1 inch in size, but if you do not have a ice cream scoop you can use your hands then place then on your pan with parchment paper

Step 4: Finishing the Protein Balls

Once you have placed all your protein balls onto your pan *making sure to leave space between each one* place them in your fridge to firm up. Leave the balls in the fridge for one hour.

Step 5: Conclusion

Once the hour is up serve them to your friends/family or save them for later by placing them in a bag in the freezer. In summary, protein balls are a delicious, convenient, and versatile snack that can enhance overall health and well-being. Their nutrient-dense profile and customizable nature provide a satisfying and nourishing treat for everyone to enjoy. So, whip up a batch of protein balls today and embark on a flavorful journey toward a healthier lifestyle. Enjoy and bon appetite
