Introduction: Nocturnal- a Knex Ball Machine

About: I have a YouTube channel where I do LEGO and K'Nex stuff but my instructables account is going to be pretty much just K'Nex. But still check out my YouTube channel! And I will keep posting new stuff so check …

Here it is, Nocturnal, my tenth ball machine! I thought that Regent was my tenth but then I realized that I had miscounted. 1 lift, 5 paths, and about 2500 pieces. Music composed by me via noteflight.com. The stars all over the machine are just for the nighttime theme. Link to video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bUveK5xsUY

noc·tur·nal
näkˈtərnl/ adjective

done, occurring, or active at night.

Step 1: White Floor, Lift, and Path Selectors

This is the first machine that I have done a white floor that all of the paths congregate to. The lift is a chain lift with 2 exits, so it basically functions as a path selector. all of the other selectors are of the classic vertical variety.

Step 2: Path 1

Path 1 is just a chain drop, and then some pathing back to the floor.

Step 3: Path 2

Path 2 consists of first, some panel pathing by www139/William Green/Green Connector, two brothers that are my favorite BM builders ever even though they change their name so much. After that, the ball waits for a ball from path 3 to release it with my flower waiter element, whose video can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB7GjyIt0ME Then, the ball does a 180, spins a spinner, then finally some 1 slot connector pathing back to the white floor.

Step 4: Path 3

Path 3 first goes on a tire arm, then releases the waiting ball from path 2.

Step 5: Path 4

Path 4 is mostly motorized madness track.

Step 6: Path 5

Path 5 is first some curved Yellow connector pathing, then a big arm onto some blue connector pathing.

Step 7: The End
