Intro: Normal Loom Band (single Chain)

This is the simplest and most basic loom band and there is no loom required! :)

STEP 1:

Equipment:
Lots of loom bands
Two pens*
An s clip
A hook**

*it doesn't matter what type of pens they are, but it helps if they're the same size

**this is a loom hook. When you buy a pack of loom bands, it might come with a hook, but you can also get them at craft stores. This is optional and sometimes using your fingers is just better.

STEP 2:

Place one band on the 2 pens. You should twist it across both pens like a figure 8

STEP 3:

Now, place another band on top of the twisted one. Don't twist it, just put it normally

STEP 4:

Grab the bottom band on the right side and pull it up and on top of the higher band. It should look like the photo.
NOTE: for this, you can use the hook or your fingers.

STEP 5:

Do the same on the other side so it looks like this.

STEP 6:

Now our a fee more band on top

STEP 7:

Take the bottom one and bring it up again so it looks like this

STEP 8:

And bring it up again....

STEP 9:

In the end it should look like this (but maybe a little longer)

STEP 10:

Now take one side off the pen & attach an s clip to both bands on that side

STEP 11:

Now do the same with the other side but attach the bands to the same curve on the clip.

STEP 12:

.......the finished product
MINE TURNED OUT LIKE A FISHTAIL BAND AND I DON'T KNOW WHY THAT WAS BUT ITS COOL ANYWAYS

ALSO, IT WAS MORE LIKE A RING BUT THAT WAS JUST BECAUSE I DID A SMALL ONE

Comments

I dig the fishtail look, even if it was by accident. You can build lots of cool stuff using similar techniques by just knitting, as yarn is a little cheaper than those rubber bands. And you can wear knit stuff for warmth as well as fashion.
