Intro: O Bench

STEP 1: Materials..

You will need just 3 things to do :
1)corrugated cardboard paper
2)Adhesive
3)A band saw

STEP 2: First Step..

I thought to make a bank which is usefull for resting..I draw some sketches and chose one of them.
And then i did some mockups to see how it will work.

STEP 3: Second Step..

After i made the different mockups,i chose the one that i cut the caps in a different shape..And it is needed to be comfortable so i carve an area on the mockup for sitting.

STEP 4: Next..

And it's time to make the prototype.I glued the back face of the corrugated cardboard paper,and i began the rolling..You should roll the paper with a helper..Because it's so hard to ensure the paper is strained.

STEP 5: Carving..

After i rolled the corrugated paper, i left it to dry..2 days passed then i carve a cavity on the roll of paper.Now it looks like a tree trunk bank..

STEP 6:

I draw the angles on the caps off roll and cut them with a big band saw.Now i had a roll,it's caps are cut with 45 degree angles.

STEP 7: The Last Step..

At the end, i wanted to rock the roll.But there was a problem; it should be rocked but also not to be trundled.So i put 2 cylinderical chocks under the roll.I carve on them and fit up the roll in chocks.It makes the roll cosntant and at the same time the roll can be rolled to back and forth as we want.

STEP 8: Finally!

Here we go..You can sit on it and get all the pleasure one can out of the roll..

It's a bench made by recyled material such as cardboard..

I think you should have left it looking like a pasta-quill (step 3), but it's still good.

you should be right but when i sat on it ,it's not so comfortable.So i decided to carve.Thanks for your nice comment:)

It was the angle-cut ends in step 3, not the carved seats. (unless the perspective is funny somewhere?)

Yes, I like the shapes there. The final bench/seat is still good though.

As someone else said, it looks like a tree trunk, not a chair.

Nice, it must have take a few litres of glue to do that. It would be interesting to figure out how to add branches into the log to give some figure and knots to the "woodgrain". It must be pretty heavy.

Very interesting concept, and nice looking too - I honestly thought it was a real carved tree trunk when I first saw your intro pic. Very cool. Kudos.
