Introduction: Oculus Drift Shift Knob

I made an Oculus Quest 2 controller shift knob for my car. This is for my BMW 545i, but I think it should work for other BMW 5 series

Supplies

I printed this with PLA+. I then used sandpaper and spray paint to get the colors. I printed out a BMW logo sticker. I then used a knife to widen the hole at the bottom to make it fit perfectly.

Step 1:

I started with a 3D model of the controller I found online. I cannot find the link to the model to give credit, but it was most likely for virtual reality and not 3D printing. You can tell that my slicer did not like this hollow model.

Step 2:

I put it in Meshmixer to make the pieces solid so they would print correctly and printed a test. You can tell that my slicer likes it more now.

Step 3:

I measured the rod the shift knob attaches to so I could create something to attach it.

Step 4:

I imported the controller to Tinkercad and created the thing to attach it.

Step 5:

After I printed it, I sanded it, spray painted it, then attached everything.
