Introduction: Old Broken Book Shelf Retored and Turned Into an Art Piece
I had an old unstable bookshelf. I decided to use it to do a painting and I also fix it so that it would be usable.
I started by nailing a piece of thin wook / hard cartboard in the back of the bookshelf to make it more stable. (actually it was the buttom of a dresser's drawer).
I then removed the shelves. The middle one is fixed. I couldn't take it off.
I painted an owl on the background.
Once dry I put some of the shelves back in. Using a piece of 90* folded metal witch as one side attach / screwed to the shelf and the other side screwed to the side of the shelf. That way the shelves won't fall as they used to when I put in some heavier things on it.
I love the result, it is pretty and usable! So happy that I haven't throw that bookshelf away as I was going to........
