Intro: Old Camera Style Lamp Made From Scrap, Fullmetal

Hello,

here´s another Lamp i´ve made from scrap and carparts
It got the look of an Vintage filmcamera wich i really like, because of the dirty broken glass with the engraving it looks much more used and original vintage.

Thats not really an step by step instructable its very hard to find the same perts i think its not necessary to show exact "how to" build that thing. it´s more for inspiring your own project maybe a similar lamp.

Parts:

-The stand is an vintage brass tripod
-the main body is some engine part of an audi, i think is an dieselpump
-the downpart of the body is an agr valve of an citroen c5
-the backpart of the lens is the downpart/Waterreservoir of an classic esspressomachine
-the lens is an 1920´s Bicycle lamp
-the occular is a part of an microscope
-some electric scrap
-an mobilecharger 12V 800mAh
-an cableswitch

At first i gave the engineparts to a glassblster for cleaning. after that they look like new maybe a little to new.
then i made two adapterplates from aluminium. so i couldt close the down and backside of the mainbody.
now i hone down the thread of the esspresso machne thing, just for an cleaner look and drilled the holes i need for fixing the lamp and put the cabeles through.
Now i weld the main part to the downpart and the esspressopart to the main part.
Then i screwed the tripod to the downpart, put the cable through and screw on the lamp.
i only needed to braze the cables to the socket wich is allready in the lamp.
Put the switch in the line.
stick the occular and the electrick "things" to the backside with some epoxyd glue

i have choosed an very low light, it looks better than some mega LED i think. so it´s not just a lamp for light up something it´s also a sculpture with an light effect.

hope you like

Nice design and a cool reuse! Where is the glass blasting shop or what are they called?
Awesome look and process. I always see things from scrap that can lend itself to be something else. I look forward to what else you may come up with!
Where did you FIND such a variety of parts? VERY cool lamp!
That's a very nice lamp. You have good imagination. Maybe you should think about selling lamps like that.
absolutely beautiful.
O, so very excellent! At first, I wanted to know which camera it was.. .heh heh. Fooled me! I think I need to tackle a build like this...
Pretty awesome. Makes me want to raid my dad's dead motorcycle collection...
I love this. I've had several projector lenses since last century and didn't know what to do with them, until now. For sure my camera will have lots of lenses.
Many thanks.
Excellent! Thank you!
