Old Radio to MP3 Player

Intro: Old Radio to MP3 Player

Covert a old radio into a MP3 player with a remote control.

STEP 1: Convert

I got this idea from my dad. He got the radio from goodwill and the MP3 unit off the internet, but never got around to finishing it. So he told me his idea and let me have a go at it.

STEP 2: Add Stuff

I added a full range speaker to the one side. Also I had to make a new front. I used the back as a template for the front. Simply cut out a square hole to slip the unit into.

STEP 3: Stain It

Its up to you if you stain it. I think it improved how it looked a lot

STEP 4: Done

I have to say it turned out really good. With the MP3 unit you can plug in a USB or a SD card to play whatever you want. It also has a auxillary plug in the back. I tested it and the sound was awesome. It has very good volume and quality. The remote works very good too.
I hope to add a battery into it later, so if anyone has any suggestions I'd be glad to hear them.

Any questions, comments, or ideas let me know.
