Introduction: Old T-shirt to New Crochet Bowl

About: An Architect who loves building stuff!!

I have so many old t-shirts and each and every t-shirt has some history!! I can never let myself throw them out... So what can be a better way to keep them and have them in a new form!!! This project lets me make super pretty bowls out of my favorite t-shirts!! What can be a better way to store things!!! :) :) :))))))

Step 1: Materials Required

Best part of making this project is that all the things you need you already own them.

-bunch of old t-shirts (I will be using two colour of t-shirts, peach and white for this project, you can play with as many colours as you wish)
-Crochet size 6
-Scissors
-Pencil and a scale.

Step 2: Making Yarn Out of Old T-shirts

First cut out the edge of the t-shirt.

Mark little slanting lines starting from mid of the Base of t-shirt and these line should continue from front to back, so we can have a continuous yarn out of it.

Now cut on the markings to get continues yarn.

Make your ball of t-shirt yarn.

Step 3: Crocheting....!!!

1. Make a loose knot at the starting of yarn.

Row1. Make 13 tr (trebles) in the ring.

-Join at the first tr with the sl (slip) st (stitch).

- Now pull the loose end of the ring and tighten the ring.

Step 4:

Row 2. Make 3 ch (chain), 1 tr in the same place of the first ch, V (2 tr in one stitch) in each st of first round, Join the last st at the 3rd ch.

Row 3. Make 3 ch, V in next st of the round and 1 tr in next st, repeat till the end of the round and join at the 3rd ch of the 1st tr.

Row 4. Make 3 ch, V in next st and 1 tr each in next 2 stitches, repeat V, 2 tr, V till the end of the row. sl st in 3rd ch.

These 4 rows make the base of the bowl.

Step 5: Sides

Row 5. 1 dc in the back of the ch all around the last row, join with the sl st.

Row 6. 3 ch, 1 tr in each dc of previous row.

Row 7.to 9. 3 ch, 1 tr in each tr of previous row.

Row 10 and 11. Join white yarn with the peach yarn. Make 3 ch, 1 tr in each tr of previous row.

Step 6: Scallops

Row 12. 1 ch, miss 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc in next tr, 1 ch, miss 1 tr, 1 sl st in next tr. Repeat same all around the row.

Finishing touch. Weave the loose ends into the stitches.

Yuhuu!! Its done!!!!

Now its your turn to make few bowls!!
