Intro: Orange Bread

This is a bread recipe that I have made. Its like banana bread but is made with oranges. It is easy to make and takes only 40 minutes to cook.

STEP 1: Ingredients

Bread
1 1/2 cups All purpose flour
1 cup Sugar
1 tsp Baking soda
A dash of salt
1 egg
1/3 cup of melted butter (or margarine)
1 tsp Vanilla

Orange pulp
1 orange
1 tbsp Sugar
2 tsp   water

STEP 2: MIxing

First preheat oven to 325 degrees. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.

STEP 3: Orange Pulp

To make the orange pulp first peel the orange and take it apart. Then put them in the blender along with the water and sugar and blend until smooth.

STEP 4: MIxing Again

Add the egg, vanilla, butter, and orange pulp. Then mix it all together.

STEP 5: Baking

Get a bread pan and and coat it with cooking spray then pour the batter in the pan. Then put it in the oven for 40 to 45 minutes.

STEP 6: Enjoy!

I'm so trying this! Looks amazing!

I think you can also use packed or canned mandarin oranges on supermarkets.
If you really really want an orange taste/smell... try adding some of the zest !
Added the zest (all from the one orange), and substituted veggie oil in place of butter (didn't have any). Must say this is going in my recipe book. Also you might consider a glaze made from orange juice and powdered sugar.
When you remove the peel from a fruit it is called "PEELING" and is then "PEELED". "PEALED" is the past tense of ringing, or pealing, a bell.
What? I never made that mistake! "edits instructable"
really good bread, my son want me to make it again... two thumbs up!!
Does it matter if the orange has bruises?
Nevermind, I guess not because it gets blended
Cool! I have some grapefruit juice...grapefruit juice bread?
This sounds HEAVENLY! I will probably try this weekend and hopefully, I'll take pictures.
Thanks! Hope you enjoy!
