Introduction: Organize and Fit Your Gear in a Camera Bag

I'm not new to DSLR photography, but new to own a DSLR :) I bought a camera bag, but then I realized, that my gear won't fit in it. That was the time an instructable could help me a lot, but couldn't I find one.

So, basically here are some guidelines in the photos how to fit your gear in a Lowepro Adventure 170. I bought it for like 50$ in my country, but in the USA it's a lot cheaper (half the price), so it's a great deal. Excellent build quality with lifetime warranty

My gear: Canon EOS 550D (or T2i / Kiss X4 depending on your country) with BG-E8 grip, Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II, lens hoods, 2 filters, an aftermarket battery, a backup SD card, cleaning stuff, a DIY trigger, USB cables, and a charger. That's a lot of stuff, reviews say that's more than the bag's capacity, and basically they're right, but with some experimenting you can find a place for everything.

So, I uploaded photos for 3 different methods. With charger, without charger (recommended), without charger and body with attched lens. To carry the bag it's safer (I think), to detach the lens (1st & 2nd method), but sometimes you need the camera to be ready for shooting (3rd method). Even with the 3rd method the 18-55mm lens won't reach the bottom of your bag, because the sof wall holds the body well.

On the sides of the bag there are 2 more pockets where I put the fluid and some other cleaning stuff, but one is still empty to hold a bottle of water ;)

Sorry for the image quality, I had to use my old compact camera :)
