Introduction: Origami Pleated Mushroom

About: A fellow hobbyist venturing into creative ideas

A mushroom is asymmetrical in nature. It exists and poses as a cleanliness system for the environment.

I decided to cook this pleated paper mushroom on my notebook platter in order to eat it (not recommended and devoid of flavor, please consult your parents). I wanted to create something asymmetrical using origami which would be fun to make and easy as well.

Supplies

  1. A4 sheet of paper.
  2. Printer.

Step 1: Print Out the Attached PDF Pattern

  1. Print the attached pattern in image form or PDF format.
  2. Cut out and start folding as per the following instructions:
  3. The vertical black lines are mountain folds.
  4. The curved black lines are valley folds.
  5. The horizontal straight upper line is in valley fold.
  6. The two ends stick together via one piece of fold over another such that a cylinder shape is formed.
  7. The folds are to be made first before the curving and joining.

Step 2: Enjoy!

  1. You have now prepared one piece of mushroom and now are ready to eat it (just a joke).
