How create an outdoor el wire Nativity scene.

Step 1: Prepare the Master File of the Scene

You can draw the Nativity subject. If you are not good at drawing, you can just google internet and download the pictures you like. Compose the picture in a image with the same aspect ratio of the metal wire mesh. I used a 2 meters high and 5 metters large metal wire mesh.

Step 2: Copy the Nativity Subject on Paper.

Now you have to copy the Nativity subject to paper. If you are able to draw directly the subject on paper you can avoid the step 1.

If you are not able to copy the original image file to paper, you can use a video projector: put the paper on the wall and copy the projected images on the paper with a pencil.

If the picture is too big, you can split the picture on more papers.

Step 3: Put All the Paper on the Floor and Compose the Original Picture.

Put all your paper on the floor, to compose the final picture. Pay attention to the right size of the final picture!

Step 4: Make the Paper Picture Clear.

May be your picture is not clear enough. Remember you will have to put a metal wire mesh on it. Before to put the metal wire mesh, use a pencil to make the picture clear.

Step 5: Put a Metal Wire Mesh on the Paper Picture.

Put a metal wire mesh on your paper picture. I used a 6 mm x 6 mm square wire mesh. Chose the right one for you.

The full size mesh is 2 meters hight , 5 meters wide.

If you mesh is very big you can add alluminium bar on the two sides.

Step 6: Fix El Wire With Nylon Cable Tie

Fix the el wire with the nylon cable tie. Instead of the nylon cable tye, you can use simple nylon wire. I use small (1.8 mm) white nylon cable ties.

Start el wire fixing from the driver side of the el wire.

I user an 3.2 mm el wire diameter.

Step 7: Cut Nylon Cable Tie.

Follow the picture on the paper and complete the same picture with the el wire. More nylon cable ties are used where the picture has curves, less were the picture is just a line.

At the end, cut the nylon cable ties, to have clear pictures.
