Introduction: Outer Space Straw Launcher
Time to make an outer space straw launcher! With this Instructable you'll be able to make your own rocket ship fly!
Step 1: Materials
For this project you will need:
- Straws (One Straw Per Launcher)
- Paper
- Tape
- Markers/Pencils/Crayons
- Scissors
Step 2: Cutting Out Your Rocket
Now it's time to make your rocket! Draw and then cut out a rocket ship and/or a UFO.
Tip: If your having a hard time drawing them you could print some rocket ships, and then cut them out.
Step 3: Coloring
Next color your space ships any way you want!
Step 4: Making Your Launcher
Cut out a small rectangle piece of paper. Next role up the rectangle and tape it to make a paper tube that is a little bigger than the straw. Tape one of the ends of the tube together. Then tape the paper tube to the rocket, with the taped side facing upward. View the pictures for more detail.
Tip: If you want you can color the part of the tube sticking out red, to give it a flame look.
Step 5: Launching
Now it's time to launch your rocket! Put one end of the straw into the paper tube. Blow through the other end of your straw, and your rocket launched!
Tip: You could do this project but instead of rocket ships you could make paper animals, objects, and anything else fly!

If air is leaking out of the paper tube(step 4) it won't work really well. Make sure there isn't any air leaking from the paper tube or any holes in the straw. I hope this helps!
