Introduction: PAPER BRAINVITA ( PEG SOLITAIRE )

About: CRAFTSMAN
Hi guys,
In this Instructables, I'll show you, how I made brainvita game by using paper and thermocols.
Brainvita game also called by BEG SOLITAIRE and also SOLO NOBLE in some countries,
Brainvita is a single-player board game, involving the movement of pegs on a board with holes.

Supplies

1) Newspapers,
2) thermocols,
3) a thin cardboard sheets,
4) maida flour,
5) water,
6) acrylic paints,
7) paint brushes,
8) basic craft tools.

Step 1: WHAT IS BRAINVITA

Brainvita is a classic board game filled the entire board with pegs except for the centre holes.

Step 2: RULES

You can jump horizontally or vertically, the peg that has been jumped over gets removed.

Step 3: OBJECTIVE

The objective is clear the board of all the pegs except one.

Step 4: WHAT IS NEW ON THIS ?

Basically brainvita board and pegs are made out of wood, In this, I try to make out of papers and thermocols....

Step 5: WHITE GLUE PREPARATION

To stick the paper on board and pegs, lots of White glue’s are required, brought this from the store made more expensive one, so I planned to do make this my own.
For this, I use maida flour, mixed with water and boil with stir, it becomes as glue and ready to use.
It reduces expensive during crafts making.
Totally 6 tablespoons of maida flour only required to complete this instructables.
Here I share how to make this inexpensive glue of your own,

PROCEDURE 1: Take 6 tablespoons of maida flour in a bowl.

PROCEDURE 2: Add water and mix both well.

PROCEDURE 3: Boil this mixture in a medium flame and continuously stir, becomes glue state and switch off the flame.

PROCEDURE 4: cool this to 30 minutes and becomes like glue, ready to use entire crafts.
Maida glue+paper gives a strong texture to crafts after it's dry with direct sunlight.

Step 6: PAPER PREPARATION

To the primary layer to both board and pegs, I use newspapers cut as 5*2cm and 2*2cm pieces and glue it on.
Plain papers are cutted as 5*2cm and 2*2cm pieces are used as finishing layer or secondary layer.
Glueing this plain papers on both board and pegs gives a good finished look while painting.
LET US INVOLVE TO DO BOARD AND PEGS.

Step 7: BOARD GENERATION

To create a board, I use 26*26cm square, 2 pieces of thermocols with thick of 2.54cm (1”).
Upper thermocol piece carries 33 holes and lower thermocol piece remains plain and glue it together after holes are punched.

Step 8: HOLES MARKING AND PUNCHING

Mark 33 holes from the centre of upper thermocol piece in dia of 1.17cm each with 2cm gap, the holes are in plus(+) sign (standard).
After marking, punch 33 holes in upper thermocol piece in the dia of 1.17cm with 2cm gap.

Step 9: STICK TOGETHER

After successfully punched holes, stick both thermocol pieces together with the help of super glue.

Step 10: PAPER PIECES GLUEING ON BOARD ( PRIMARY LAYER )

By the help of prepared maida glue stick that small newspaper pieces over thermocol board and cover all sides of the board.

Step 11: WHITE PAPER GLUEING ON BOARD ( SECONDARY LAYER )

To do a secondary layer, stick that cutted plain papers, this gives white finishing to board and also a good surface finish while colouring.

Step 12: LET BOARD TO DRY

After all the glueing process is complete, leave the board to dry in direct sunlight to one-day fully.

Step 13: SAND PAPER WORK

With the help of 150 grit (finish sandpaper), lightly rub the surface of the board, due to this excess glues and excess papers are removed and also gives a smooth surface to board.

Step 14: BOARD - COLORING

With the help of acrylic paint the board and differentiate the centre of hole is important.
And border plus sign with the help of permanent black market.

Step 15: PEGS GENERATION

With the help of low thick 13cm length cardboard, roll as a cylinder shape dia of 1.5cm.
Roll like these cylinders, these act as pegs.
Totally 32 pegs are required to play this game.

Step 16: NEWS PAPER GLUEING ON PEGS ( PRIMARY LAYER )

Stick the newspaper pieces over pegs and cover all the sides of pegs by using the maida glue.

Step 17: WHITE PAPER GLUEING ON PEGS ( SECONDARY LAYER ) ( OPTIONAL )

Stick that cutted plain papers over newspaper covered pegs, due this we get good pegs surfaces to colour them.

Step 18: SAND PAPER WORK

With the help of 150 grit (finish sandpaper) slightly rub the surfaces of the pegs. this removes excess glue and excess papers on pegs and gives a smooth surface to pegs.

Step 19: PEGS - COLOURING

Split 32 pegs, 16 no’s each and coloured by both different.

Step 20: HOW TO PLAY ?

The board consists of holes (positions) which can hold pegs, all positions except one, have pegs placed in them at the start of the game, a valid move for a peg is moving it from it's the position to an empty position (which is two positions away, horizontally or vertically) by jumping over a non empty position.

Step 21: RANKING

Depending on how many pegs are left onboard the player will get a reward to play this game.
1 peg in the centre hole = GENIUS 1 Peg anywhere in board = Wiseman
2 pegs on board = pretty smart
3 pegs on board = plain dumb
4 pegs on board = ignoramus
5 and above pegs on board = get again try.
DO THIS BRAINVITA GAME, PLAY AND REDUCE YOUR STRESS...
