Introduction: PCB Business Card

Because I'm sometimes asked to help people with computer problems and other tech support, I decided that it was time for a nice business card. As I am an electrical engineering student, I wanted my business card to reflect that. So the choice to make PCB business cards was easy.

Step 1: The First Design

I made a quick sketch of how I wanted them. It was important for me to incorporate something that I like, which is electronics, so I put some traces of that on the design. For ease of use I also put a QR-code on the back. When you scan it you can get my information directly on your phone.

Step 2: CAD

After the first sketch it was time to design them in Eagle. I used Eagle because it is the CAD software I am most familiar with. But any PCB design software should work. The traces, my name and the QR-code are made in the solder-mask top layer so that the under laying ground plain would be visible. My personal info was placed on the top place layer.

Step 3: Ordering

After being satisfied with the final design it was time to order them. I ordered the cards on www.jlcpcb.com. In my opinion a black PCB with gold plating looks the best so I used that for these cards. After waiting for a week, they arrived.

They turned out great.
