Introduction: PI TIME

A Tea/Coffee placemate on Pi theme.

Material required :

- gray wool fabric ( 86cm x 37cm )

- Aida canvas ( 60cm x 37cm )

- Iron-on, double-sided adhesive ( 60cm x 37cm )

- DMC embroidery cotton

- wooden pencil

- ruler

- needles

- scissors and wire cutter

Step 1: Embroidery

Overcast the canevas, before emboidering.

Print the pattern (pdf document) and use it to trace on canvas using the pencil.

For the embroidery we use the following points :

- of filling , for the tree

- of knot , for the flower

- from Boulogne , for Pi outline

- backward , for Inside Pi

- of scale , to fix the side roll

Step 2: Sewing

Place the iron-on adhesive on the back of your canvas.

Center the canvas on the gray wool fabric . Pin at the top and bottom.

Fold back the adhesive and the canvas by one centimeter on both sides.

Stitch the top and bottom at 1,5cm.

Step 3: Finishes

Turn over and iron.

Fold the wool frabric at the bottom and at the top,over 1,5cm and the four corners.

Roll up both sides and fix them with red cotton using scale point.

Step 4: Bonus : Appel Pie Recipe

No idea to use your new Tea placemate ?

Make a quick apple pie with Pi on top.

Ingredients for the pie:

  • one shortbread
  • two apples
  • a tablespoon of cinnamon
  • two tablespoon of sugar
  • two tablespoon of butter
  • two tablespoon of grape

Cut the apples, and put it on a frypan with the sugar, cinnamon, butter and grappes.

Cook it at low heat until it's caramelized.

Fill the shortbread pies, close them and cook at 210°c for 12 minutes.

Decorate the pie with a edible Ink marker, with the Pi value.

Step 5: Result
