Introduction: PLAY STATION FOR MY CAT: THOR

About: I am a self-taught Finisher (furniture, automotive and faux) and have basic experience and training with cabinetmaking, home crafts and even electrical in my younger years. I love working with my hands and cre…

ENTIRELY MADE FROM SCRAPS LAYING ABOUT THE SHOP: PIECE OF 1.4" ALUMINUM, 2" WHITE PVC PIPE, SASAL ROPE, OLD SCRAPS OF CARPET LEFTOVER AND WOOD PIECES TO CREATE SOME SHAPES.

Step 1: IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ROPE!

THE CAT JUST LOVES SASAL ROPE SO I STARTED WITH THIS AS THE MAIN ELEMENT OF HIS NEW "HANG OUT" PLAY STATION.

I CUT A PIECE OF 2" WHITE PVC AT 20 INCHES IN HEIGHT, STAPLED THE ROPE AT ONE END AND THEN STARTED WRAPPING IT TIGHTLY. I OVERLAPPED IN A FEW PLACES TO GIVE A THICKER GRAB POINT FOR HIM TO SINK HIS CLAWS IN. STAPLED IT AT THE TOP AND HOT GLUED IT TOP AND BOTTOM FOR SAFE MEASURE AS WELL.

Step 2: SECURED THE OTHER PIECES.

I MADE THREE DIFFERENT LAYERS FOR HIM TO LAY ON, WRAPPING EACH ONE IN PIECES OF CARPET, STAPLING IT DOWN FOR GOOD MEASURE.
