Introduction: Laptop STAND PVC Table
I got this IDEA from other INSTRUCTABLES and applied it for a PVC laptop table stand that I modified for use of how we (my family) mostly use the laptop in a horizontal position.
We know its bad for you body, posture and worse for the laptop because of overheating but we always end up with our legs propped up with an over heated computer on them.
Also this stand is small and versitial depending on where you want to use it.
Step 1: MATERIALS
10 FEET 1/2 INCH PVC TUBE highest grade you can find it wont bend
four 90 degree corners, two 45 degree corners, 5 tees two end covers
two pieces of rope (not shown here) I spent all of 5.00 dls to make two
seperate tables. PAINT not inclued and optional
Step 2: CUT PVC Pieces As Shown
I have cut and measured my version of this table to my own use
This fits our 13 to 17 inch laptops measurements can be modified to fit you laptop and body size
please note that you should be able to fit under the table as in the picture of the boy, if you need it wider or higher these mesurements wont be of use.
Step 3: Assemble As Shown
Do not use glue yet
Step 4: Continue to Assemble As Shown
Continue to assemble as shown I dont know why the image uploaded upside down this is my first instructable.
Step 5: Continue to Assemble As Shown
Same as the other pic it upoaded this way
ONCE YOU HAVE PUT ALL TOGETHER
POUND THEM INTO PLACE INTO A SNUG FIT SO YOU CAN CHOSE THE
POSITION THAT FITS YOU BEST
NO GLUE YET
Step 6: ALL PIECES IN PLACE
If all pieces are in place you should be able to see a version simular to this
Step 7: SEVERAL DIFFERENT POSITIONS ARE POSSIBLE
Choose which fits you best
Step 8: Drill HOLES TO FIX POSITIONS
place the table in the positions you want and drill the hole acording
I personally used a hot nail to make the holes.
Step 9: KNOTS TO HOLD IT IN PLACE
I thought these knots would hold any laptop in place. You can tie them around the pipe so the laptop wont slip.
Step 10: LONG LEGS FOR DIFFERENT POSITIONS
Step 11: SHORT LEGS EASIER TO STORE
JUST A QUICK NOTE
The TEE I have left on top is optional you may use one sigle pipe there instead I want it there so I can pull the cords thru
Step 12: MISSION COMPLETE
This is the version with long legs but the short leg version also works,
Once you have the version you want glue all parts together except for the one you drilled the holes in to adjust to different angles and bottom tee that touches the floor that one I left loose to adjust positions and switch to long and short legs.
If you have no intentions to vary the angles you may glue all of them

I love it. Everyone should try it. I am thinking of painting it with different colors...

Are the bolts there for easy adjustment of the angle? This instructable is a brilliant idea, but that was something i was trying to figure out. My boyfriend will be bedridden for a few months and being able to use his laptop comfortably will make a huge difference, but I was wondering how to make it so he can adjust the angle as he gets better and can start sitting up a little more.

The bolts in the top are just for holding the laptop. The bolts on the sides are the ones for adjustment.

I be dizzy! But what a great instructable, very versatile, and cheap like me... and apparently you. Is the still stable when used with the larger laptop, or would maybe a 3/4" pipe be better ?
Cheers

YES its very stable, I made several for 15 inch laptops and smaller, with the 15 inch I use the longest legs for support and if all glued well its very stable even with laptop fan included, I bought PVC for hot water which is 4 times more resistant than cold water PVC, and because thick PVC is very bulky. And best of all it fits under my bed when not in use.
