PVC SLIDING DOOR

INTRODUCTION :- PVC(Polyvinyl chloride) pipe is a cheap,durable and reliable and it has a good resistance of corrosion and water.The most valuable thing for choosing PVC is it's light weight.PVC widely used in garden watering plumbing and water pipeline . So i decided to use it for door making.I'm trying to use few number of tool for this project because in INDIA all have not enough tools.

MATERIAL REQUIRED :-

1. PVC PIPE
2. T-INTERSECTION (2 Pices)
3. ELBOW (4 Pices)
4. PLASTIC SHEET (1 Pices)
5. DOUBLE SIDED TAPE (As per your requirement)
6. PVC GLUE
7. CASTER WHEEL(I FIXED IT FOR SLIDING,2 Pices)
8. SLIDING WHEEL(2Pices)
9. METAL PROVIDE SUPPORT TO DOOR(I USED SCRAP FROM HOME)
10. SCREW (8 Pices)

TOOLS REQUIRED :-

1. MEASURING TAPE
2. POWER CUTTING TOOL OR Hacksaw
3. MARKER
4. SCREW DRIVER
5. WELDING MACHINE

Step 1: CUTTING PVC PIPE

I cut PVC pipe in following length:-

1. 4*65" (for vertical use)
2. 3*70" (for horizontal use)

I cut this length according to mt door specification but you cut according to your.For cutting pipe i used Hacksaw and power cutting tool both.Hold Pvc pipe pipe steady and mark it by help of Marker and Measuring tape then cut it.After cutting prepare it for assembling.

Step 2: ASSEMBLING PARTS

Assemble cutting pipe with Elbow,and T-intersection and preparing frame.

For assembling, four corner contain Elbow and in middle insert both side T-INTERSECTION.

The prepared frame shown in figure.

Step 3: FRAME AND WHEEL FIXING

Put PVC glue or adhesive over the cutting pipe and set all parts of door frame one by one.

Pvc provide stability and strength to frame.

FOR WHEEL FIXING

Fastening with screw fixed caster wheel under the down pve pipe and rolling wheel both side of upper pipe parallel.

Step 4: SET PLASTIC SHEET

Firstly Put double sided tape on first frame, then put plastic sheet on it.

Finally,the door frame is ready.

I use plastic sheet because it has less price ,light weight and water resistance is also awesome.

Step 5: Preparing Wall Door Support

As shown in figure weld metal parts for ground sliding wheel and for upper wheel make overhang beam from metal or PVC after that fixed it at wall.

Step 6: FINAL ASSEMBLY OF DOOR IN WALL

Finally fix door support to wall and base of the ground and insert door in it.

Then inspect the door by sliding left to right and vice-versa and check it work properly.
