Introduction: Paint Paper

Introduction

When I was little, I would always use to much glue. When it dried, it would turn into a clear sort of plastic. So I tried recreate that, but with color. Instead though I got a cool type of paper. This paper can be used for virtually anything. It's sturdy like construction paper, so you can use it to make cubes, megaphones, and stuff of that sort, but you don't need tape!If you apply water to a small section , it will become sticky, and you can press on a sticker, or another piece of paper. Also, if you decide to use tape, it sticks well to the paper, and peels off with ease, so no tearing. This paper can also act as double sided tape if you make it right. There are so many more possibilities, but lets get on to making it.

Step 1: Materials

Gather a list of the following

  1. Elmer's Washable No Run School Glue
  2. Water color paint
  3. printer paper

Step 2: Creating

You have a choice, you can make hole pages, or make small pieces of my paper.

Full Page

Take your paint brush, and paint the hole page one solid color, the mix the color with other, until you get the shade you want. Then, cover the page in glue while the paint is wet. You can swirl and spread some of it with the nozzle. This will give the paper texture, but you don't have to.It's okay if the thickness of the glue isn't consistent every where, but the thicker the glue the richer the color will become. Also if not thick enough the paper won't be waxy, so it's best to make sure most of your page is white with glue. When your finished, let your paper dry. Once hard and waxy, you can move on to the next step.

Small pieces

Choose a color and paint on a section of the page with water color. You can mix other colors with that section, just make sure you're okay if they blend. When you have the hue you want, spread glue over it while the paint is wet. You can spread it with the nozzle if you want the paper to have texture. It's okay if the thickness of the glue isn't consistent every where, but the thicker the glue, the richer the color will become. Also if not thick enough it won't become waxy, so it's best to make sure most of the section is white with glue. Repeat this all over the page, leaving spaces in between different colors. when done, you can let dry. Once waxy and hard you can move on to the next step.

Step 3: Finishing Touches

If you made multiple pieces, you can now cut them out. this is the point where if you wanted to make your paper double sided. you would follow the previous step, except on the other side of the page. So you can then use it for double sided tape. You would just need to add a little water. You can also repeat these steps to make as many as you want. From here, your options, are limitless. I made sun catchers from mine.

Step 4: Other Projects

I also made these puppets of a girl, and her alien dog. Hmmm. Where have I heard that before? Nope, doesn't ring a bell.
