Introduction: Painting a Polypropylene Sword

When I got this sword I decided that I didn't like the all black look and wanted to paint it.

Step 1: Taping Off the Area.

Figure out what parts you want to paint and which part you don't. Use masking tape to cover the areas you don't want to paint.

Step 2: Priming

Whenever you paint it important to prime first, but due to the nature of the plastic this step is crucial. I used a special plastic primer designed for polypropylene. Make sure to observe instructions and drying times.

Step 3: Applying Paint

Once the primer has fully dried, apply the paint of your choice, making sure to follow the drying times and instructions.

Step 4: Removing Tape

Once the paint has dried to the touch, if you dont plan on adding highlights or extra colors, begin removing the tape. Once this step is done, you are finished unless you want to apply a clear coat.
