Painting While Long Boarding

Introduction: Painting While Long Boarding

You will need,

Acylic paint (any colors you want)

mason jars or cups,

a camera and tripod,

a paint brush,

a longboard that's in good condition

and Butcher paper.

Step 1: Painting While Longboarding

To start find a decent sized hill with not too much traffic and lay down your paper, tape it down so it doesn't move when you roll over it. Once you've done that put paint in the bottom of your jars or cups(don't put multiple colors in one cup) then fill with water and stir. Put the jars at the front of the paper so you can dip your brush in while riding. Your set up should look like this when you're finished.

Step 2: Balance and Precision

You may paint any image of your choosing, I choose to outline myself and my goal was to fill in as much of the inside of the body as I could. You can make an abstract painting or paint something on the paper before hand its all up to your imagination! Once you have thought of something to paint dip your brush in the paint. Take your longboard and paint brush at least 3-5 feet away from the paper so the hill gives you enough speed to paint while long boarding. Make sure you are balanced enough to bend down and put a mark on the paper with your paint brush. Do a few practice runs riding along side the paper, bending down and applying the paint brush to the paper.

Step 3: Body and Imagination Unite

Once you have gotten you're balance correct its time to start painting! Don't stress yourself out this is supposed to be a fun excerise to get your creativity flowing and your leg muscles strong! Continue to take your long board 3-5 feet away from the paper and roll down the hill painting while gaining speed. Make sure you know how to stop your board if you gain too much speed for your liking.

Step 4: The Final Touch

Once you sre satisfied with your painting take a picture, let it dry, roll it up and take it home. Make sure you film yourself doing this its fun to see the progress of the painting. Go home and show everyone what you've done and be proud because its a difficult task to paint while long boarding.

What if you put the paintbrushes on a long handle? If you don't have to slow down or you can carve sharper there might be some interesting shapes.

Hmmm thats a good point this was my first time doing this so I didn't think of that. But you still might have to slow down regardless
