I have decided to build a palette table because our coffee table which was made of melamine wood , started being very wobbly and unsafe.
Step 1: Gathering Materials
Palettes are everywhere , nice and free resource of wood ; even the broken ones are useful for many wood crafting ideas and minor repairs or patches.
The only difficulty is to dismantle them, many times the type of the nail is being used is the ribbed nail which persists on extraction,and it might tear the wood apart during the process.

Step 2: Building
5 palettes. I kept the 2 best shaped to use them as the base of the project and I've demolished the other 3 carefully to use them for the patches and the drawers.
At first I dismantle the top of the first palette and I add 2 more pieces to have a solid top without space between the woods and I re-nailed them . Then I connected the palettes one above the other using wood patches, to provide stability . For the sides I have nailed two pieces of thin plywood. After I've applied wood stucco on the top to cover the minor gaps between woods. And then a lot of sanding : one pass with thigh sandpaper and a second pass with the thinnest one in order to create a smooth surface for paint.

Step 3: Painting
At first I passed inside and outside one layer of water based ecological semi transparent white varnish as a base . Then I sand it one more time (lots of sanding!!)with the thinnest sand paper.
After that I applied two layers of paint in different colors to give a "wash" effect . It is wise to wait 24 hours drying between layers in order to have a good result.
Then I had the idea of drawing on the top to give a personal artistic touch. I've found the preferred picture through Internet, then I have uploaded it to a site that magnifies and transforms pictures into pdf file, and downloaded it. After I have printed it onto A4 rice paper and with an exacto knife I cut the drawing in order to create my own stencil.
Then with the help of a sponge i painted it. After drying I've applied 3 layers of transparent water based varnish to protect the top and two layers of the same material around the rest of the table.(lot of painting and long time of waiting.

Step 4: Drawers
Using the leftovers and pieces from the dismantled palettes I've build 8 drawers using a hammer nails and some wood glue . I've sand and paint them. Then I've put in front of each draw an extra piece of wood which was very well sanded and the edges as smoothed as possible .
Instead of handles I used a forstner drill bit to create a hole on each drawer, simple and efficient.

Step 5: Finishing
4 heavy duty wheels with brake have been installed on the bottom of the structure to be easier to move, it's a very heavy thing!
