Introduction: Paper Airplane - Easy, Good Flight

I have included a Word Doc on exactly how to make this paper airplane. Very simple to make and makes a great flyer!

Step 1: Step 1: Sheet of 8.5x11 Paper

1. Start with an 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper and lay it on a flat surface. (The thicker the paper that you have, the better it will fly!)

Step 2:

2. Fold the piece of paper in half, making the paper only 4.25” in width. Once the edges match up, press down on the edge that is NOT separated and crease it with your fingers.

3. Open the paper back to its original shape, making sure your crease is pointing down, or creating a valley.

Step 3:

4. Once it is back, fold the top of the paper down and leave a little more than an inch uncovered by the folded piece and crease on the edge that is NOT separated. After this is completed, return the paper back to the original position.

Step 4:

5. Now, you will fold the top edge down to line up with the crease you made in the previous step. Once paper is lined up, crease the edge that is still connected.

6. You will fold the top edge down to line up with the crease you made in Step 4. Make sure to crease the paper and DO NOT return the paper back to original position.

Step 5:

7. Now fold the top right corner of the paper toward the center line crease and as soon as the top edge matches up with the center crease, crease the paper and repeat the step for the left side.

Step 6:

8. Once those creases are made, open the flaps up again to the orientation done in Step 6. Now you will fold the top right corner down again, but this time it will only reach the crease you just made while lining up the right edge of the paper with the crease you just made. Repeat this step for the left side.

Step 7:

9. Now, you will tuck the flaps you just made under the fold made in Step 6 so they are no longer visible and crease it together.

10. You should have two obtuse triangles with the base piece that has not been folded. From there, you will fold the airplane in half on the crease you made in Step 2, making sure the two triangles are on the outside of the airplane. Crease again down center fold made in Step 2.

Step 8:

11. Now fold the outermost edge of the triangle down to line it up with the crease made in Step 2 and repeat for opposite side.

12. Finally, pull the wings back so they make a flat plane and it is ready to fly!
