Introduction: Paper Basket
For this basket you will need to have 2 sheets of 8.5" by 11" printer paper, A ruler, Scissors, a pencil, and 2 sided tape
Step 1: Step 1: Cut the Paper
Step 1:
You will need 2 pieces of average 8.5"X11" printer paper and a ruler. Use the ruler to make 16 strips of paper that are 1" by 11"
Step 2: Step 2: Lines on the Cut Paper
use the ruler measure 3.5" from both sides of 8 of your strips. You will want to mark this with a pencil on all 8
Step 3: Step 3: Taping the Bottom
Place 4 of the strips with lines side by side and put some 2 sided tape on the 4" middle of the other 4
Step 4: Step 4: Placement
Stick the 4 strips with so that the 4" centers meet so that the 8 strips together look like a plus symbol. When placing the strips that have tape make sure to put two over and two under the plain strips.
Step 5: Step 5: Fold Up
Fold up all the ends of the 8 strips and place a strip on the sides and weave it so it goes over and under the strips that you folded up before. It will take 2 strips to be fully around the basket. You can use 2 sided tape to hold strips in place if necessary.
Step 6: Step 6: 2nd Layer
Once you have gone fully around one with the 2 strips, do the same thing directly above the first 2 strips.
It is very important of this step to yell at the top of your lounges "I'M BUILD'IN A BASKET" or you will not experience the full sensation of basket making.
Step 7: Step 7: Folding Edges
When you have the 2 layers of paper strips of strips around the basket you need to fold down the ends of the strips that are going up so that they go over the strips that go around the basket. You can used 2 sided tape to make the ends stay down.
Step 8: Step 8: Handle
Place A small strip of 2 sided tape on either side of a remaining strip and place the strip in the basket so it makes a handle. If you see fit you can re-enforce the handle with normal scotch tape on the inside of the basket.
