Introduction: Paper Heart
Do you have all of the enamored (affected with intense romantic attraction) feels for a certain special someone? Is there a burning passion within you that, up until this point, you've been inhibited from putting out into the universe? Are you ready now to write it all down, but are at a complete loss as to how to present your love note? Well, I've got you, fam! ;D I've created this easy-to-follow Instructables for you to showcase your love in an adorable origami-fashion. Look, everybody knows origami-ing ain't no joke! So when you deliver this darling heart-shaped note, your lover will know you cared as much as to put in the effort to make this beautiful masterpiece. Better yet, they'll know your love for them inspires you to create art! Let's get started!
Step 1: Pour Your Metaphorical Heart and Soul Onto Good, Ol' Fashion Paper...
just as you had planned.
Note: The piece of paper you use must be rectangular in shape since a square piece of paper distorts the final shape of the heart, and you certainly don't want to come across as sloppy. I also recommend you use a rectangular sheet of paper larger than 5 1/2 by 8 inches to accommodate space for your innumerable amount of feels, of course, and, again, to preserve the shape of a proper heart in the end product. (I'm just trying to set you up for success, here).
Step 2: Fold Your Sheet of Paper "hot Dog Style".
A "hot dog style" fold refers to a very specific way of folding a rectangular sheet of paper in half. The fold results in the most narrow version of the rectangular paper you started with.
Step 3: Fold One Corner.
Step 4: Fold the Other Corner.
Step 5: Fold in the Upper Top Half of the Paper...
to meet the bottom of the 'X' you previously created.
Step 6: Undo the Fold and Bring in the Sides of the 'X'.
Step 7: Fold the Upper Part of the Paper Down...
to create the tip of an arrow.
Step 8: Repeat Steps 3 Through 7...
for the other end of the sheet of paper on the same side, that is.
Step 9: Fold the Whole Paper in Half...
as you insert the top arrow into the bottom arrow.
Step 10: Cut a Slit.
At this point you should have what looks like a failed attempt at forming an upside-down pentagon. On the flat end of your "pentagon", cut a vertical slit through the center of it. The slit should be about one-third the size of the entire top to bottom length of the pentagon.
Step 11: Gently, Fold in the Paper...
where you made the slit.
Step 12: Fold in Each of the Two Corners...
of the flat end of your pentagon. This is the same end where you made your slit.
Step 13: Address Your Note.
Step 14: Deliver Your Paper-heart Encased Feels to Your Intended Party...
by whichever method you are comfortable with. You do you. I trust you'll make the right decision.
Step 15: Now, You Wait.
You've done everything humanly possible to let your love know how you feel. Your future together depends on the receiver of the note, at this point. I wish you the best of luck!
