Grilling in the sun with parabolic cooker

STEP 1: A Satellit Dish

Cooking in the sun is a type of grilling, and with a satellit dish you get the right temperature for it. The dish is made for TV or internet connection, diameter is 80 cm, and has a great focus, about 1100 mm. It is too far from the dish, so I upset the dish a little from the sun direction.

To get a good mirror, I put sticking tapestry on it, in 5 cm bands, to put it on the surface.

The sticking tapestry is a silver mirror for baathroom tiles.

STEP 2: Leg and Pan

At first I tried to make legs, and make the adjustment to the sun with the angle of legs. For sabil standing some stones were put on the legs. The cooking pan was a non-stick frying pan, and it cooked quite well.

But it was circumstantial to move the mirror after the sun, the focus is moving quickly, and a parabolic mirror has to be in sun direction.

STEP 3: Wheelbarrow for Dish

With a wheelbarrow the moving and turning is simple, and you can adjust the dish and the cooking plane with screwed leg supports. The pan is on a cooking grill, it is not fixed.

The cooker works well, water boiling, or grilling is simple and quick.

Great idea,never thought about a dish before.I wonder if it was on a trypod with a swivel to follow the sun would help.
