In the past I felt a great need to knit in red, white and blue, and thought "American flag". So I got out my needles and knitted away. I ended up with many hats, Christmas tree decorations and tea cosies! For my creations I used a lot of Lion Brand Homespun http://cache.lionbrand.com//yarns/homespun.htm and Woolease http://cache.lionbrand.com//yarns/woolease.htm I also used up oddments of Red Heart yarns in patriotic colours for the smaller items and bought new Red Heart yarns for the hats http://www.coatsandclark.com/ and some Caron Simply Soft yarn for the baby items, http://www.caron.com/ One of these days I am going to knit a Union Jack! Most of the patterns are sort of my own design with a little help from a couple of ancient tea cosy patterns and Jean Greenhowe's Christmas Special pattern book, which I adapted for my own devices. http://www.jeangreenhowe.com/
