Introduction: Peltier Case for Iphone

Has your Iphone ever been unexpectedly turned off before? You're not the only one who wants to stay warm in the cold!

We are four student who are studying at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Eskişehir Technical University. In this project, we discussed our individual problems. Especially during the winter, our phones are vulnerable to the temperature in Eskişehir, which is an extremely cold city. We started working on a product that would solve an unexpected shutdown.

Firstly, we aimed to create heat by using the energy of motion with the help of a dynamo. However, due to insufficient voltage, we were unable to raise the phone temperature to the desired level.

Then, we noticed a product called Peltier that was just what we needed. Peltier's principle of operation is that "the colder one side is, the hotter the other side".

Step 1: Using the Peltier With Battery

We bought Peltier first. Since we cannot connect the Peltier to an electrical source most of the time, we chose to use a stored energy. We soldered the battery holder and the peltier wires.

Step 2: Find a Case and Cut It

We found an unused case and cut it into a 4x4 square at the bottom.

Step 3: Details

We added hook and loop tape to the case for easy carrying of the battery holder.

Step 4: A Case for the Battery

This is an optional step.

We wanted the battery compartment to look like a power bank. We made a box for the battery using the photoblock.

Step 5: Case Is Ready

Plug the case into your phone and enjoy taking pictures while it's snowing.
