This is a piece of sycamore turned to a top shape. You then insert a pencil and spin it up. I used 1/4 copper collars to give the pencil a tight grip.
It draws cool circles and shortening or lengthening the pencil will give it different paths as it alters the center of gravity.

This is awesome!!! In the past I have used washers with chalk watercolor pencils. It can be quite mesmerizing!
