Introduction: Pentatonic Pan Pipes

This is my first Instructable, so please comment and tell me what you think. For this project, you will need:
Materials:
1) About 2 feet of 1/2 in. PVC pipe
2)Duct tape
3) 5 pennies
Tools:
1) Saw
2) Ruler
3)Scissors (Optional)

Step 1: Cutting the Pipes

The dimensions you will need for each of the pipes go as follows:
1) 6 1/16" (15.4 cm)
2) 5 3/8" (13.6 cm)
3) 4 3/4" (12.0 cm)
4) 3 15/16" (9.8 cm)
5) 3 7/16" (8.7 cm)

Cut the pipe to these lengths.
After you cut them, make sure to wash all of the plastic dust out of them before the next step.

Step 2: Putting the Pennies On

After the pipes have been washed out, take a penny and small piece of duct tape, and put it on one of the ends of each of the pipes. For the best sound, try to not have any space in between the penny and the sides, so no air can get out. After you have taped each one, you can try to blow them individually to make sure they work.

Step 3: Putting It Together

Now, you can tape the pipes in together in the order of their lengths.

Step 4: Playing Them

Playing them takes a bit of time, and effort, but you have to just keep adjusting the angle that you blow into it, until you get a solid sound.
