I am a senior student at MATER DEI HIGH SCHOOL ,Santa Ana,CA.

I want to design a pet shelter with Containers for the fur babies at Shanghai to help them from being extincted during the epidemic. The pets from anywhere can live and play here very well,like a paradise away from the dangerous situation ouside.

Step 1:

Pets such as cats and dogs are becoming more and more friends and family members of us .

There was a recent outbreak of omicron in Shanghai.The Chinese government has asked Shanghai to 

implement a strict zero-infection policy.The whole of Shanghai was brought to a standstill and chaos 

as all those infected with the virus were ordered to enter makeshift hospitals for compulsory quarantine.

In a state of almost war, pet children find themselves in an awkward and dangerous situation.

Step 2:

Use 2, 4 or 6 containers to form a unit.Each 2 containers is designed with an air conditioning room, an entrance and a staircase. The containers are topped with an elevated wooden floor as a pet playground.When 4 or 6 containers are combined, a courtyard of ground floor can be designed in the middle, which is enclosed and more private and easy to manage.

All these will make a pet paradise out of Shipping Containers.


Step 3:

During the epidemic, the pet center can collect unattended pets in shanghai. 

China is known for building makeshift hospitals quickly. We could build a shelter like that for our pets.I designed a "big pet home" and a "small pet home" - two kinds of pet cages.Group together and adopt as many unattended pets as possible.
