Introduction: Pet365's Organic Peanut Butter and Bacon Dog Biscuits!

One of the things we love to do at Pet365 is come up with delicious dog treats

Ingredients needed to make these delicious dog treats:

- 3 pieces of bacon, cooked and chopped up.
- 1 fl oz Bacon grease.
- 1 egg, lightly beaten.
- 270g whole wheat flour
- 35g ground flax
- 35g wheat bran
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 175ml water
- 170g Organic Peanut Butter



Step 1: Oven Settings

Preheat your oven to 160°C.

Step 2: Bacon

First, cook the bacon until crispy, and drain on kitchen roll.
Pour the bacon grease into a glass measuring cup, and save for later!

Step 3: Step 1

In a large bowl pour in the wheat flour.

Step 4: Step 2

Add in the bacon by chopping into small pieces, using scissors or a knife.

Step 5: Step 3

Mix all together thoroughly.

Step 6: Step 4

Add in Ground Flax.

Step 7: Step 5

Add in Bran.

Step 8: Step 6

Add in Baking Powder.

Step 9: Step 7

In a microwave proof bowl, heat the peanut butter for 30 seconds.

Lightly beat the egg.

Step 11: Step 9

Add the egg, and bacon grease into the warmed Peanut Butter.

Step 12: Step 10

Add the water into the peanut butter, egg and bacon grease mixture.

Step 13: Step 11

Mix the egg, peanut butter, bacon grease and water together until thoroughly mixed together and formed.

Make a well into the dry ingredients with your hands.

Pour in the peanut butter mixture.

With a fork, stir the mixture together until it is combined.

Knead the mixture together until it combines into a dough like texture.

Step 18: Step 16

Roll the dough out until the dough is 1/2 inch in thickness.

Using the cutter, cut shapes out of the dough. When the dough has been used, use the leftovers again and rinse and repeat!

Place the shapes onto a greaseproof tray ready to go into the oven.

This is just to show you that with the mixture I was able to make 48 biscuits, and still have half of the dough left! 

The dough will keep for 6 months, so place in a freezer bag, freeze, and use again when you've ran out - great huh?! :)

Step 22: Step 20

Place in the oven for 15 minutes, ensuring that you turn them to cook evenly!

Step 23: Voila!

Hey presto your treats are done! Don't forget to leave them to cool for 2 hours before feeding to your prized pooch/pooches! :)

Our wag-o-meter was off the scale when the dogs tried these! So give them a go, they are simple and tasty!
