Introduction: Pi on Pie (peach Pie)
I made a simple peach pie to celebrate pie day which is Friday march 14. This recipe uses a simple pie crust originally made by natasha'skitchen.com and the peach pie recipe is made by allrecipes.com. Which are both linked in the following steps for reference in throughout the recipe.
Supplies
These Are The Total Ingredients You Need To Make This Pie
- A little bit more than 2 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup and 1/2 tbsp of sugar
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 1/4 cup of butter
- 7 tbsp of ice of cold water
- 3 16 oz cans of peaches or 9, pitted and sliced ones
Pie Crust Ingredients
-2 1/2 cup of flour
-1/2 tbsp of sugar
-1/2 tsp of sea salt
-1/2 Ib of cold unsalted butter
-7 tbsp of ice or cold water
Peach Pie Filling Ingredients
-1/3 cup of flour
-1 cup sugar
-1/4 cup of butter, softened
3 16 oz cans of peaches or 9, pitted and sliced peaches
Step 1: Making the Pie Crust

Mix together flour, sugar, and salt in a food processor
Step 2
Add cold diced butter and pulse until coarse crumbs and some pea-sized pieces form
Step 3
Add 7 Tbsp of water and pulse till small balls of dough form. Pinch a piece of dough between your fingers and if it sticks together, it’s done. If not add more water, 1 tsp at a time.
Step 4
Next put the ball of dough on a clean surface and divide it into two separate balls. Then flatten both of them into two disks and wrap in saran wrap. Finally refrigerate for one hour and you have your pie crust to work with.
Step 2: Flour Mixture

The only step to this flour mixture is to Mix together sugar, flour, and butter in a medium bowl until crumbly. Set aside.
Step 3: Assemble the Pie

To assemble the pie, first spread out the dough in to big flat sheets. Then drape this over the pie dish to make the bottom of the pie.
Step 2
Next we will start putting in the filling. Put in one layer of drained peach and sprinkle in some of the flour mixture then repeat this till you get to the top of the pie.
Step 3
Finally, lay out another sheet of dough and drape it across. Then lay out another sheet of dough and cut out a big pi symbol out of it. Then place it on top of the pie to finish it off with pi.
Step 4
Finish this pie off by putting it in the oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 45 minutes and Allow pie to cool before slicing.
